PLANNING

Creating better communities

Local authorities are required by statute to consult community councils about planning applications and licensing matters. Community councils are also consulted by local planning authorities on their on Local Development Plans and can respond to consultations by the Scottish Government on national planning issues. Community councils are also 'community bodies' who can prepare Local Place Plans for the whole or part of their area.
