ABOUT US
Mid Deeside Community Council serves the area of Aboyne, Kincardine O'Neil, Dinnet and Glen Tanar, as shown on the map below.
We are a team of volunteers who live or work in the area.

The Mid Deeside area is situated in rural Aberdeenshire, in North East Scotland, UK. Part of our area lies in the Cairngorms National Park.

WHAT IS A COMMUNITY COUNCIL?
'Community councils are the most local tier of statutory representation in Scotland. They bridge the gap between local authorities and communities, and help to make public bodies aware of the opinions and needs of the communities they represent.' (gov.scot )
Community councils are non-party-political and community councillors are volunteers. In Aberdeenshire, community councillors are elected annually for a term of three years.

YOUR COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Mid Deeside Community Council can have up to 13 community councillors. Current community councillors and associate members of Mid Deeside Community Council are listed below. All are volunteers.

Ward 15 Aberdeenshire Councillors are also "ex-officio" members of Mid Deeside Community Council - they attend and contribute to our meetings and help with our work, but they do not vote in meetings.
